The constant question of: "should I sacrifice my personal style for the sake of fashion??" I've heard this a thousand times .... it gets me to think while I observe people on the street. My answer: NO! your personal style is what makes you feel good, what suits you, what you feel identified with, then, no matter how fashionable you look, if you don't respect your personal style, then it might not suit you right. The day that I shot this pictures someone [very close to me] came and asked if I should wear such a big shirt, that being because I am 'tiny' (only 5'0). Of course I should!! Not because they are in style right now but because I feel great in them, also, I knew I could styled them better by wearing a pair of super high wood wedges and problem solved, for me at least. Other things I can't wear no matter how 'hot' they are out on the "street style" scene, for example palazzo pants. Nope! you won't see them in here.
I truly think that the first rule of fashion should be "Wear what makes you feel good" THEN you can ask if its fashionable or trendy.
I see lots of people trying to fit in a style that is trendy and you can just tell how they don't belong in that suit, so it "kills" the whole initial purpose of dressing 'cute' which was looking good. But instead see others who graciously wear an outfit that may not be as trendy but they look great, why?? because the real 'good looks' in fashion as in life comes from feeling good and respecting who you are.
Anyways, You may or not agree with me but for me its always important, very important, your opinion, Let me know what you think. XO
And ..... have a very happy weekend.
